Choong Kar Heng is an ingenious man who understood the saying, ‘humanity runs on coffee’ and instigated the café and coffee culture in Malaysia. Almost a decade later, he is still making sharp ripples in the industry. Kar Heng’s early life was not characterized by riches, but rather by hard work and an unyielding passion for success. He pushed through the setbacks and is now a co-founder of many well-known F&B brands such as CoffeeSociété, Garage 51, Underground Société and Procaffeinating.
His hard work and dedication overtime have not gone unnoticed. Awards like the SME & Entrepreneurship Award, Top 10 of Malaysia Award, and the Golden Key Award are just a few of the many he has achieved so far. Much like his motto, ‘one can achieve anything if you are creative; have determination, good habits and grit’, he is a prime example of the sky is the limit if you have drive and determination.
