The Lions Club of Selangor Majestic (LCSM) and the Malaysia Society of Wound Care Professionals (MSWCP) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the inaugural event, which will take place on December 21, 2024, at the Auditorium, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Underscoring the common commitment to empowering Volunteer Nurses and enhancing access to healthcare, this MOU will officially establish the relationship for a TWO (2) year term to gather funding for the Wound Care Kits. Additionally, a Wound Care Kit to Restore Lives video highlighting the initiative’s mission and transformative impact will formally debut at the event.

A Project of Hope and Healing

By providing them with the necessary supplies to perform house calls and provide wound care services, the Wound Care Kit program aims to empower volunteer nurses. By assisting patients in their recovery, regaining their mobility, and leading healthier lives, this endeavour seeks to change lives.

“The Malaysia Society of Wound Care Professionals (MSWCP) was formed in 2009 to increase public knowledge of wound care, especially concerning diabetic foot ulcers and other complicated wounds. The goal of this program is to give the B40 group, many of whom cannot frequently visit hospitals for wound dressing, free home nursing care”, said Prof. Dr. Dato’ Harikrishna K.R. Nair, the founding president of the MSWCP, the head of the hospital’s wound care unit in Kuala Lumpur, and president of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies.

Our Volunteer Nurses provide free, necessary care to patients in their homes through this program. They travel with sophisticated wound care kits that contain cutting-edge wound care supplies. Despite their high cost, these dressing kits are quite successful in accelerating healing and enhancing these patients’ quality of life. Supporting this fundraising initiative will enable us to significantly improve the lives of less fortunate individuals. We can “Heal Wounds, Restore Lives” if we work together.

“Lions International is dedicated to humanitarianism, and this partnership with MSWCP reinforces our mission to serve,” added Don Hoe Chin Aik, District Governor of Lions International District 308 B2. We enable volunteer nurses to deliver vital treatment to underprivileged communities by collecting money for these Wound Care Kits. We encourage everyone to kindly support this noble effort.
