Asian Impact Awards 2025 Sets New ESG Standard

Kuala Lumpur, September 18, 2025 – The Asian Impact Awards 2025 and the launch of the La Tofi ESG Rating marked a new milestone for Asia’s sustainability journey, responding to recent social, environmental, and economic upheavals in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Nepal. Rooted in the need for greater accountability among governments, corporations, and legislatures, the initiatives were created to ensure that policies, strategies, and development programs are balanced between real risks and concrete actions.

In his opening remarks, La Tofi, Chairman of the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, emphasised that ESG must not be a hollow scoreboard but a compass for balance, calling on companies to move beyond resource exploitation and instead seriously consider sustainability with clear risk calculations and mitigation. Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo, in a video message, praised the Awards as a collaborative platform positioning Asia as a model of sustainable development, noting Indonesia’s renewable energy potential and Singapore’s role as a global hub for technology and finance.

Held at Confetti KL, Malaysia, the Awards brought together companies from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, unveiling Asia’s first sustainability assessment system based on Risk–Action Alignment. The La Tofi ESG Rating, built on four pillars the Local Risk Mapping Index, Risk–Strategy Alignment Index, Action Mitigation Score, and Field Verification Score- ensures that corporate and government actions are measured against actual risks, producing Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze ratings as validated reflections of change rather than mere numbers. The launch received strong interest, with companies recognising its local relevance, including Pertamina Foundation, whose Finance Director, Tito Rahman Hidayatullah, expressed commitment to exploring adoption.

The Awards also highlighted collaboration over competition, with 34 outstanding CSR programs presented at PORTMAN College on September 17, ranging from environmental conservation and women’s empowerment to strengthening community economies. Using the La Tofi ESG Rating, 34 companies achieved Platinum status, and 7 received Gold. Special honours were presented to Indonesian envoys Hermono and Suryopratomo as Asia Best Ambassadors, while Simon Aloysius Mantiri of Pertamina and Darmawan Prasodjo of PLN were named Asia Best Impact CEOs, and Denny JA of Pertamina Hulu Energi was recognised as Kingmaker Driving Positive Change. Pertamina Foundation, YBM PLN, and Singapore’s Siura Studio were named Asian CSR Changemakers for their flagship programs, while Malaysian companies, including Brixsten Academy, Perfect Pinnacle, SKA Transport, Prestige Home Avenue, Reskills Edtech, and Comfori, were also recognised.

Adding to the significance, 28 executives from award-winning companies graduated as Certified CSR Leaders (CCL), an Executive Diploma from PORTMAN College Malaysia and the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, recognising their competence in developing ESG-aligned CSR programs.

The Asian Impact Awards, held annually, underscore Asia’s role in driving global sustainability while reminding us that true recovery from crises caused by social negligence lies in transparent, measurable, and locally relevant action.
